About Me

Background

I come from a small town in southern Indiana. My parents were farmers and to supplement their income they had several different small businesses at various times in my life (motel, diner, & small mom & pop grocery/gas station). Growing up, if I wasn't working in the fields, I was cleaning rooms, waitressing or pumping gas (back in the day when there were full-service gas stations). I am no stranger to challenging work or customer service. I am proud and grateful to be raised in this atmosphere. I learned so many life lessons, not only in how my hard work was reflected in my work product, but also by being immersed in customer service throughout my childhood. These are life lessons that cannot be taught in school and have followed me thru my professional life, and for that I am forever grateful to my parents.

 Before starting FireFly Accounting Services, I worked as an Accounting Manager & Benefits Administrator for over two decades for a 20+ attorney law firm. I began my career as a billing clerk and worked my way up to Accounting Manager. After 10 years in the industry, I decided to back up my work with a degree and at age 33 I made the jump and enrolled myself in college. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Accounting and an Associates in Business all while working a full time job and raising two young boys. I was taught to put in the hard work to get where you want to be. I believe these instilled values is what has driven me through my professional career. 

I have a passion for small businesses due to my life experiences. I have a true love for the legal community. I bring to the table my drive, my years of experience and my love and passion to empower small & solo law firms to succeed.  I have experience in numerous types of law and software applications.  I am detailed-oriented, organized, and a problem solver! My work-product is a true reflection of who and what I am. I understand that to prosper in business is a two-way relationship. I believe in one-on-one service and take pride in listening to each attorney, understand their individual practices and working with them to achieve their goals. I believe in trust, honesty, integrity, and being enthusiastic about my work.
